Nowcomm, the network skills, services and support company specialising in unified communications, has been awarded a two year network managed services contract by the Coal Authority.

The agreement covers the management of the LAN infrastructure across two sites at the Coal Authority’s headquarters in Mansfield. Nowcomm will work closely alongside the Coal Authority’s own ICT department providing network support and proactive monitoring of performance.

“Following a rigorous competitive tendering process we decided to award the contract to manage our network infrastructure to Nowcomm. Out of all of the proposals we received, Nowcomm best understood our needs and has the necessary depth of technical expertise we were looking for,” said Dan Whitt – senior ICT manager, the Coal Authority.

Initially managing the existing network, Nowcomm will also be monitoring future requirements and advising on changes and upgrades. “We are proud to have been awarded the contract to provide network managed service and support for the Coal Authority,” said Richard McLoughlin, Nowcomm’s managing director. “As a Midlands based company we are always delighted to support other local organisations and to have been selected following a very competitive process underlines our strategy of continuing investment in our engineering resources.”
