WEST MIDLANDS FIRMS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EXCITING NEW WEB TV SERVICE

West Midlands firms are spreading their messages on the net, thanks to an exciting new national web-based TV channel.

Hosting 12 individual channels, www.broadbandtvchannel.co.uk is a specialist platform which provides a national service compiling TV reports that are then available to be viewed on the internet.

Using an extensive UK network of experienced television crews, it is already attracting the interest of some of the country’s most prominent organisations and businesses.

This includes three West Midlands companies, builders Rok plc, decorating equipment manufacturer LG Harris & Co, and nursery care provider Busy Bees.

Both Rok and Busy Bees used the service to help with the promotion of stock exchange announcements, the former with its annual results, the latter airing a video report of the acquisition of another nursery chain.

The web TV channel is owned by Recognition Services Ltd, which supplies photographic, video, design and web services to clients throughout the UK.

The channels are, Business and Industry, Community, Construction, Education-Learning and Skills, Lifestyle and Leisure, Politics, Professional Services, Property, Senior’s and Sport.

Rok plc, the nation’s local builder, has become one the first organisations to truly recognise the benefits of the service offered. Rok used Web TV reports to promote safety on building sites and various business developments including the company’s annual results.

As well as Rok, the channel has also hosted reports for the Learning and Skills Council, Rok plc, Duncan Bannatyne, Coast and Country Housing and London-based Pimlico Plumbers.

The reports cost in the region of £390 plus VAT and are made by the channel’s network of professional TV crews throughout the UK.

As part of the £390 package companies can have a short TV report filmed, scripted, edited and placed on the www.broadbandtvchannel.co.uk website. The clients are given ‘html’ codes to enable the TV reports to be shown on their own websites and downloadable ‘wmv’ files to use in presentations.

Recognition Services Limited is owned by Graham Robb & Frances Bourne, who are convinced that it will change the way in which websites are used.

Graham Robb said: “Businesses often need to explain complex ideas and present detailed credentials. Using the TV report format that people are familiar with from everyday TV viewing is an easy way to grab attention and bring difficult concepts to life.”

Explaining the business model being used by the new web TV service, Frances Bourne said: “We have engaged a network of professional TV crews who have been less active as a result of downsizing by some TV companies. They are all used to working to deadlines and producing material in a cost effective way. The web is a growing medium and this is a dynamic way to reach your audience.”

Rok Corporate communications manager, Vicky Banham, said: “Rok is trying different ways to communicate its central theme ‘the nation’s local builder’. Web TV reports are one way of reaching specific sectors with messages that can be tailored to the difference aspects of our business that they are interested in hearing more about.”
