Kasenna Unveils PortalTV 2.0
for Integrated Television & Internet Video Delivery
Launches "PortalTV: Where Television Meets the
Internetsm Campaign
Kasenna®, The IPTV CompanyT, unveiled PortalTV 2.0,
Kasenna's blueprint for integrated delivery of
Television and Internet video content. PortalTV 2.0,
built on a standards-based web services platform,
enables service providers to rapidly deploy IPTV
services for immediate revenue generation while
positioning them for Internet video content delivery.
The blueprint outlined a broad array of services
based on Dynamic HTML, RSS and XML for delivery of
Internet content using the PortalTV platform that is
currently used by Cavalier Telephone, TVSierre and other
carriers. Cavalier Telephone, a facilities-based carrier
based in Richmond, VA, and TVSierre, an alternative
operator in Switzerland, were among the first carriers
to deploy MPEG-4 based IPTV services using Kasenna's
PortalTV platform.
Consisting of Kasenna's LivingRoom 2.0 IPTV
middleware, MediaBase XMP video delivery platform, and
vFusion video network management system, PortalTV is the
fastest and most cost-effective route to profitable IPTV
services available in today's market.
"The world of television is undergoing a major
transformation with the "walled garden" of content
offered by Service Providers crumbling in favor of the
more open Internet model that encompasses delivery of
Internet content to individual subscribers and
communities," said Mark Crandon, Kasenna's Vice
President of Marketing. "With the first release of
PortalTV we established a leadership position in
delivery of MPEG-4 based IPTV services and now with the
unveiling of PortalTV 2.0 Kasenna is once again leading
the market for integrated delivery of television and
Internet content delivery."
PortalTV: Where Television Meets the Internetsm
The company also launched its "PortalTV: Where
Television Meets the Internet" marketing campaign with
fanfare at the show with an elaborate demonstration of
its PortalTV product suite.
"The world of Television and Internet are inexorably
gravitating towards each other and converging," said
Kumar Shah, CEO of Kasenna. "Kasenna's PortalTV is Where
Television Meets the Internet and we are pleased to be
leading the market in this exciting direction."
