Maureen Singleton as Head of the new Corporate and Employment Law
Department.
Maureen will be responsible for the development of this new
department which will deal with all aspects of company commercial and
employment law work. Maureen has a vast amount of experience in dealing
with business sales and acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures,
management buy-outs, shareholder disputes, partnership and other
business law matters. Maureen is also a specialist in all areas of

her Yorkshire base Maureen is well-known and respected throughout the
country.
In the past Maureen has established an employment law networking
forum known as “The Opus Club” which provides help, training and
guidance on employment law issues. Meetings of The Opus Club will
recommence at Eatons over the summer months.
Graeme Brown Senior Partner for Eatons says, “Maureen’s appointment
marks the official consolidation of several areas of our corporate and
employment law expansion programme that we have been undertaking for the
last few years. She will be responsible for driving this area of the
practise forward and has already brought several significant clients
with her.”
Maureen has said that, “This is a very exciting phase for me
personally and professionally and I’m looking forward to the challenge
that this will offer. Eatons are held in very high regard for the legal
services they offer and the new dedicated Corporate and Employment Law
Departments will enhance this reputation.”
Eatons was first established in Bradford in 1887 and as such is one
of the oldest solicitors’ practises in the UK and has grown into a
substantial regional business with an additional office in the centre of
Leeds. The practice premises are steeped in history being built on the
site of the original Bradford Dispensary (b.1826), which became the
Bradford Library until closing in 1981, when Eatons took over. The
practice now employs over fifty legal professionals and prides
themselves on their high level of client care and approachability.
