eTickets.to wins 'Innovative
Business of the Year' at the Business Startup Awards
eTickets.to are proud to announce that they are
winners of the 'Innovative Business of the Year'
category at the Startups Awards 2007.
Presented with the accolade by Sky News presenter
Adrienne Lawler at a prestigious awards ceremony at the
Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, eTickets.to beat off
stiff competition from Intelligent Retail, One Post and
Smart Rewards.
"It's an honour to be recognised with such a
prestigious award" enthused eTickets.to founder Matt
McNeill "and being able to see the success of other
great UK startups is truly inspiring."
eTickets.to is a revolutionary new online service
which allows event promoters to sell electronic tickets
directly to their end customers over the internet -
removing the need for a booking agent (who usually adds
a hefty booking fee which the consumer has to pay).
These annual awards, organised by startups.co.uk and
endorsed by the The Department for Business, Enterprise
& Regulatory Reform, reveal and celebrate the best small
businesses in the UK.
"Our winners are the business leaders of tomorrow but
the driver's of today's economy. It's essential we
recognise their efforts and that's what the Startups
Awards and today's winners are all about." Says Matt
Thomas, editor, startups.co.uk
The winner of each category was decided by top
judges, including Martin Webb, presenter, Channel 4's
Risking it All; Sahar Hashemi, co-founder, Coffee
Republic and Oli Barrett, founder, Make Your Mark With a
Tenner. The successful businesses and the talented
people behind them proved their brilliance after
fighting off competition from hundreds of entries.
In Addition a recent government report published in
August revealed that small businesses account for a
whopping 47.1% of employment and 37.2% of turnover in
the UK, making their combined economic contribution
enormous and worthy of recognition!*
