Arco listed in Sunday Times Top
Track 250
The UK’s leading safety equipment supplier Arco is
one of Britain’s top performing, mid-market, private
companies according to the Sunday Times Top Track 250,
published 14 October. The league table ranks
family-owned business Arco as the 148th on the list of
250 companies, based on its 2005-2006 sales figures.
Hull-based Arco joins household names such as
Weetabix, Selfridges, McLaren and Arsenal Holdings in
the Top Track 250 and is one of the 59% of companies
listed whose head office is in the North of England.
With the highest percentage of Top Track 250 private
companies in the food and drink (17%), building-related
(14%) and automotive (15%) businesses, it comes as no
surprise that the use of occupational health and safety
products and workwear are on the increase. According to
Thomas Martin, Joint Managing Director, Arco’s rising
sales figures are indicative of Arco’s expansion into
the corporate clothing and workwear market, its growing
network of 34 local branches and its reputation as the
nation’s safety experts.
Thomas said, “With increasingly strict regulations
surrounding occupational hazards, Arco is well placed as
the UK’s biggest supplier of safety equipment and
workwear to help guide companies through legislation,
whether they employ a few people or a few thousand
people. We have a large team of safety specialists, the
best range of products and many value added services to
help people protect their workforces whatever their
safety issues or working environments”
The company has teamed up with top manufacturers from
all over the world to offer over 16,000 products that
include workwear, corporate clothing, safety equipment
and environmental safety products. Just drop in to your
