The search is on for the east of
England’s most inspirational men and women in business.
Leading chartered accountants and
business advisers, LB Group, have launched Inspiration
East 2007, which seeks to applaud the exceptional people
who inspire others to succeed in business and reach
their full potential.
The Colchester launch event
took place on Monday 13th August, 10 am – 11
am, at iLab, University of Essex, Wivenhoe Park,
Colchester CO4 3SQ.
The Chelmsford launch event took
place on Wednesday 15th August, 10am –
11 am, at Waterfront Place, Wharf Road, Chelmsford, CM2
6LU.
The London launch event took
place Friday 17th August, 10 am – 11 am at
Number One, Vicarage Lane, Stratford, E15 4HF.
Director of LB Group, Trevor Lake,
explained that previous winners had included not only
teachers and business mentors, but also team leaders,
managers and supportive work colleagues.
Trevor said, “Most of us have known
inspirational people in our working lives. It could be a
mentor or instructor, but equally it could be a
colleague who is always ready with words of advice and
support. It could be a business leader who through their
own drive and motivation inspired those around them to
reach for the stars. Inspiration East is a way to say
thank you and give public recognition.”
Inspiration East honours achievers
across all commercial sectors and winners could be from
any business, whether employed or self-employed.
Check all details and nominate

The closing date for entries is
Friday 14th September 2007. The honours will
be presented at a prestigious ceremony for 150
handpicked guests on Monday October 8th 2007
at The Waterfront Place, Chelmsford. VIP’s include
Stuart Galbraith, the UK
managing director of live entertainment company Live
Nation and a celebrity ambassador of The Prince’s Trust.
Stuart Galbraith, of Live Nation,
said “I’m supporting Inspiration East because I owe
early success in the music industry to the inspirational
people who believed in me and motivated me on my way
up.”
Hannah McMorran, iLab Manager, said
“The iLab is designed to inspire innovative, creative
thinking and so is a perfect backdrop to launch these
awards for some of the unsung heroes who have inspired
business success in the region.”
Essex Life Editor, Julian Read,
said “We all want to be inspired in our work and the
Inspiration East scheme is a great way to celebrate
those who are willing to go that extra mile as team
leaders. Essex Life is delighted to support this
project, which helps to emphasise the commitment of
Essex people to their businesses.”
Graham Ball, Prince's Trust East of
England Regional Director comments:
“The Prince’s Trust is
thrilled that the LB Group has decided to adopt us as
their nominated charity for Inspiration East 2007. We
look forward to being part of this exciting event and
are grateful for their support in helping us to change
the lives of disadvantaged young people in the East of
England.”
Marion Royer, Head of Business Development at Thames
Valley Chamber of Commerce, recalls “When
I look back at my own career, I can see that every time
I made a quantum leap it was because someone had shown
faith in me in some way. They probably had no idea that
their words or deeds would have such a far-reaching
effect, which is why I wholeheartedly support
Inspiration East and the selfless principles on which it
was founded.”
