John Clark will lead the engineering and
product development activities |
John Clark will lead the engineering and product development
activities required to bring Intelligent Energy’s technology to market,
in the form of dependable, service-ready products which answer the needs
of Intelligent Energy’s partners and customers. He will also focus on
developing the levels of in-depth operational support required to ensure
the smooth introduction of new products into service and their
through-life supportability. John Clark joined Intelligent Energy from
power systems company Rolls-Royce plc. Most recently, he was
Rolls-Royce’s Programme Director and Chief Engineer for the Royal Navy's
in-service gas turbines, accountable for the successful technical and
commercial delivery of this key customer account to the Group. Prior to
that, John led the engineering development and certification of the MT30
gas turbine, which was recently selected to power the US Navy's two
newest combat ship designs against stiff competition from other power
systems providers. Before joining Rolls-Royce’s Marine division, John
led Rolls-Royce’s programme to assess and develop emerging power system
technologies across all its divisions, in particular fuel cells, where
he led a series of design studies, competitive and market evaluations,
and focused the direction of Rolls-Royce’s fuel cells strategy.
Intelligent Energy’s CEO, Dr Henri Winand, commented on the
appointments: ”It’s a great endorsement of Intelligent Energy’s
technologies and business model to attract operational and engineering
talent of the calibre of John and Andy to the Group. Their arrival
further strengthens an already robust team. Clearly, we are delighted to
welcome them to Intelligent Energy, as we move towards the
commercialisation stage of our business plan. I know that both will make
a strong contribution right across the Group.”
