Acquisition forms part of ambitious growth strategy for rapidly expanding digital solutions agency

Digital solutions agency, bit10, announces the acquisition of West Midlands-based rival and internet service provider, Networks newmedia. The acquisition forms part of bit10’s strategy to grow the business by 100% in the coming year and establish itself at the forefront of the digital solutions industry.

With 200+ customers, Networks newmedia is firmly established as a national specialist in the membership organisations sector, and the company also provides systems and support to a variety of West Midlands companies operating in the education, health, sports, manufacturing and retail sectors.

Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.

bit10 is based on the Warwick University Science Park in Coventry and has been building web sites and e-commerce applications since 1997. With a similar history, Networks newmedia was established in 1996 to provide full-service internet solutions from start to finish.

By combining both companies’ skills, experience and expertise in the digital solutions markets, bit10 customers are able to benefit from a broad range of web services, including website design; web marketing; web traffic analysis; content management; usability testing and consultancy; connectivity; hosting; e-commerce application development; infrastructure consultancy & support and maintenance.

Commenting on the business development plans for bit10, Ben King, Founder and Director of bit10, says, “The acquisition is part of our ongoing commitment to grow the business by 100% in the coming year. By combining our capabilities with those of Networks newmedia, we are providing an outstanding range of services to both client bases that expressly meets the evolving technology requirements of web development and internet services.”

Keith Smith, non-executive Chairman of Networks newmedia comments, “Following a restructure of the business in 2005 and a focus on the core strengths we have achieved our current position in the market. We were aware of bit10 from the fact that they are a local competitor and have an outstanding reputation in the industry; this gave me confidence that bit10 would provide the level of service our customers require. With the breadth of bit10’s skills in other related areas such as web marketing, web traffic analysis, content management; usability testing and consultancy there will be further opportunities for bit10 to enhance our clients’ internet presence.”
