CitySprint acquires Axa Courier
Express Ltd
CitySprint, the UK’s largest privately owned SameDay
Courier network, has announced its acquisition of Axa
Courier Express Ltd.
CitySprint is part of the Courier and Passenger
Transport Group, which also comprises WestOne Cars and
Burgundy Cars. The Group has achieved an average
compound growth rate of 10 per cent per annum in the
past 5 years and has annualised revenues of £70 million.
CitySprint has a 7 per cent market share of the UK
SameDay courier industry and is one of the top 5 SameDay
courier networks in the world, the acquisition of Axa
will further strengthen CitySprint’s position in the
industry.
Like CitySprint, Axa provides SameDay Courier
services to businesses in and around the Heathrow area.
Over a period of twenty-five years, Axa has forged a
large and satisfied customer base, comprised mainly of
freight forwarders. The acquisition by CitySprint will
mean that the Axa Courier Express Ltd name and brand
will be discontinued.
CitySprint has been providing courier services to a
broad range of local companies in and around the area
for over ten years. Its customers benefit from a
ServiceCentre team with unmatched experience of the
courier industry and a depth of local knowledge –
something that Axa’s customers will now benefit from.
Michael Blanchard, Regional Manager for CitySprint,

CitySprint’s recently refurbished site is located in
the heart of Heathrow’s Logistics community and with Axa
will now comprise a fleet of over 40 vehicles, which are
available for ad-hoc client use.
All of Axa’s staff members will join CitySprint’s
Heathrow team. The team offers its complete range of
SameDay Courier, NextDay Courier, International Courier
and Specialist Services to local businesses in and
around the Heathrow area.
Axa’s customers will now be able to benefit from
CitySprint’s OnLine facilities, as well as the ability
to track their jobs in a live environment through
